We specialize in diagnosing and treating a wide range of pain conditions using the latest interventional techniques. Whether you’re suffering from elbow pain, hip pain, or chronic conditions like osteoarthritis of the hip or hip bursitis, our team is here to help you find relief.
Our approach goes beyond just managing symptoms with painkiller medications. We focus on identifying the root cause of your sympathetic pain, pelvic pain, abdominal pain, tailbone pain, shoulder pain, knee pain, neck pain, hand and wrist pain, lower back pain, and more.
Advanced Diagnostic and Treatment Options
We utilize progressive diagnostic methods to assess your condition accurately. Our expertise extends across the entire spine – cervical spine, thoracic spine, lumbar spine – as well as the sacrum and coccyx. We also specialize in treating musculoskeletal issues affecting shoulder joints, hip joints, hand and wrist areas, foot and ankle joints.
For those suffering from sympathetic mediated pain, we offer advanced procedures such as Stellate Ganglion Block and Lumbar Sympathetic Block. Our Ganglion Impar block technique is another option for patients experiencing coccygeal pain.
Innovative Therapies for Lasting Relief
At NY Pain Solutions, we’re at the forefront of regenerative medicine. Treatments like Trigger Point Injections With Platelets Rich Plasma can promote healing in damaged tissues. For those interested in alternative therapies, we provide Medical Marijuana consultations under New York State regulations.
Our use of Anesthesia ensures that procedures such as Ultrasound-Guided Trigger Point Injections and Ultrasound-Guided Tendon Injections are as comfortable as possible. We also offer Vertiflex procedures for lumbar spinal stenosis and RACZ Caudal Neurolysis for scar tissue-related nerve entrapment.
State-of-the-Art Surgical Interventions
For patients requiring surgical intervention, we perform minimally invasive surgeries like Percutaneous Discectomy and Lumbar Endoscopic Discectomy. Kyphoplasty is available for those with spinal fractures.
We also specialize in advanced solutions for chronic conditions such as sciatica, low back pain (LBP), radiculopathy (nerve root issues), peripheral neuropathy including diabetic neuropathy – even addressing concerns like fat pad atrophy of the foot.
Comprehensive Pain Management Services
Our suite of services includes Epidurals for spinal nerve inflammation relief and Facet injections for joint-related pains. Radiofrequency ablations offer a longer-term solution by disrupting nerve signals causing discomfort.
Sacroiliac injections target lower back and leg pains originating from sacroiliac joint dysfunction. For targeted nerve relief outside the central nervous system pathways, Peripheral nerve stimulator implants can be an effective treatment option.
We also conduct EMG/NCS (Electromyography/Nerve Conduction Studies) to diagnose muscle/nerve damage accurately.

What Our Customers Say
I come here with some neck and back issues for Pain management. The wait room is very small so they only sit patients in the main area. The family is expected to sit in another area. The wait time is so long for injections. Be prepared to spend most of your day there on an empty stomach. Dr Sekhar is the best. He consults you and answers any concerns you may have. After the procedure, they give you little juices. After sitting for awhile the doctor comes and evaluates your pain to see if the injection worked. You make your follow up appointment and you're done.

I saw Dr.Kogan at Pain Solutions for my spinal stenosis. He administered epidurals with anesthesia, so Dr. Sekhar had to work on that which meant I had 2 md's billing. Oddly enough, when I received the same epidural from Dr. Kogan at his other location (NYU Langone - Forest Hills) where Dr. Sekhar did not practice, Dr. Kogan administered the epidural by himself without the use of anesthesia. There were no problem, and since there was no anesthesia to recover from, I was free to leave right away. I submitted my insurance information but they did not bother to get clearance. It turns out my insurance was only accepted at the NYU-Langone location. But I never received a bill.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs):
- What qualifications should I look for in an interventional pain management doctor?
- FAQ Answer: Look for a board-certified interventional pain management specialist with experience in treating your specific type of pain. They should have completed a residency in pain medicine, anesthesia, or neurology, followed by a fellowship in pain management. Additionally, check for state licensure and consider their approach to patient care, including the use of multidisciplinary treatment plans.
- How does an interventional pain management doctor differ from other pain specialists?
- FAQ Answer: An interventional pain management doctor uses minimally invasive techniques such as nerve blocks, steroid injections, and advanced procedures like spinal cord stimulation to treat pain. Unlike other specialists who may focus on medication management or physical therapy, interventional specialists are trained to perform procedures that directly target the source of pain.
- What conditions do interventional pain management doctors treat?
- FAQ Answer: These specialists treat a variety of conditions, including chronic back and neck pain, sciatica, herniated discs, spinal stenosis, complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), neuropathic pain, and more. They often treat patients for whom conservative treatments have failed to provide adequate relief.
- What should I expect during my first visit to an interventional pain management practice?
- FAQ Answer: During your first visit, the doctor will review your medical history, perform a physical examination, and may order diagnostic tests such as MRIs or X-rays. They will discuss your pain symptoms, previous treatments, and how the pain affects your daily life. Then, they will outline a personalized treatment plan.
- How do I prepare for a procedure with an interventional pain management doctor?
- FAQ Answer: Preparation may include fasting for a certain period before the procedure, temporarily stopping certain medications, and arranging for transportation home. Your doctor will provide specific instructions based on the procedure you're undergoing. Always inform your doctor of all medications and supplements you're taking.
- Will my insurance cover visits to an interventional pain management doctor?
- FAQ Answer: Many insurance plans cover interventional pain management treatments, but coverage varies depending on the specific procedure and your insurance policy. Prior to your visit, check with your insurance provider to understand your coverage, and confirm with the pain management practice if they accept your insurance.
