Tailored Treatments for Every Aspect of Pain
Pain comes in many forms – from pelvic and abdominal pain to tailbone and shoulder pain. At NY Pain Solutions, we don’t just treat symptoms; we delve deep into the causes of your discomfort. Our expertise extends to addressing knee pain, neck pain, hand and wrist pain, lower back pain, and issues related to various parts of the spine including cervical spine, thoracic spine, lumbar spine, sacrum, and coccyx.
Advanced Techniques for Musculoskeletal Conditions
The musculoskeletal system is complex, involving shoulder joints, hip joints, hand and wrist components, foot and ankle joints – all areas where pain can significantly impact mobility and quality of life. We specialize in sympathetic mediated pain treatments such as Stellate Ganglion Block, Lumbar Sympathetic Block, and Ganglion Impar block.
Innovative Solutions for Chronic Pain Relief
At NY Pain Solutions, we embrace innovative therapies like medical marijuana for certain conditions where it’s deemed beneficial. Our use of anesthesia ensures procedures like Ultrasound-Guided Trigger Point Injections or Ultrasound-Guided Tendon Injections are as comfortable as possible.
Regenerative Medicine: A Pathway to Healing
Regenerative medicine is revolutionizing how we treat chronic pain. Techniques like Trigger Point Injections With Platelets Rich Plasma can promote healing in damaged tissues. We also offer advanced procedures such as Vertiflex, RACZ Caudal Neurolysis, Percutaneous Discectomy for disc-related issues.
State-of-the-Art Spinal Treatments
For those suffering from debilitating spinal conditions such as sciatica or radiculopathy (nerve root issues), our treatments like Spinal cord stimulator implants or Lumbar Endoscopic Discectomy can provide significant relief. Kyphoplasty is another procedure we offer for patients with painful vertebral compression fractures.
Comprehensive Diagnostic Services
Accurate diagnosis is key to effective treatment. Our diagnostic services include EMG/NCS (Electromyography) which helps us pinpoint nerve damage that may be causing conditions like peripheral neuropathy or diabetic neuropathy.
Pain Management Procedures for Immediate Relief
We understand that sometimes immediate relief is necessary. That’s why we offer procedures such as epidurals for acute episodes of low back pain or facet injections for joint-related discomfort. Radiofrequency ablations provide longer-term relief by disrupting nerve signals that cause pain.

What Our Customers Say
I come here with some neck and back issues for Pain management. The wait room is very small so they only sit patients in the main area. The family is expected to sit in another area. The wait time is so long for injections. Be prepared to spend most of your day there on an empty stomach. Dr Sekhar is the best. He consults you and answers any concerns you may have. After the procedure, they give you little juices. After sitting for awhile the doctor comes and evaluates your pain to see if the injection worked. You make your follow up appointment and you're done.

I saw Dr.Kogan at Pain Solutions for my spinal stenosis. He administered epidurals with anesthesia, so Dr. Sekhar had to work on that which meant I had 2 md's billing. Oddly enough, when I received the same epidural from Dr. Kogan at his other location (NYU Langone - Forest Hills) where Dr. Sekhar did not practice, Dr. Kogan administered the epidural by himself without the use of anesthesia. There were no problem, and since there was no anesthesia to recover from, I was free to leave right away. I submitted my insurance information but they did not bother to get clearance. It turns out my insurance was only accepted at the NYU-Langone location. But I never received a bill.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs):
- What qualifications should I look for in an interventional pain management doctor?
- FAQ Answer: Look for a board-certified interventional pain management specialist with experience in treating your specific type of pain. They should have completed a residency in pain medicine, anesthesia, or neurology, followed by a fellowship in pain management. Additionally, check for state licensure and consider their approach to patient care, including the use of multidisciplinary treatment plans.
- How does an interventional pain management doctor differ from other pain specialists?
- FAQ Answer: An interventional pain management doctor uses minimally invasive techniques such as nerve blocks, steroid injections, and advanced procedures like spinal cord stimulation to treat pain. Unlike other specialists who may focus on medication management or physical therapy, interventional specialists are trained to perform procedures that directly target the source of pain.
- What conditions do interventional pain management doctors treat?
- FAQ Answer: These specialists treat a variety of conditions, including chronic back and neck pain, sciatica, herniated discs, spinal stenosis, complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), neuropathic pain, and more. They often treat patients for whom conservative treatments have failed to provide adequate relief.
- What should I expect during my first visit to an interventional pain management practice?
- FAQ Answer: During your first visit, the doctor will review your medical history, perform a physical examination, and may order diagnostic tests such as MRIs or X-rays. They will discuss your pain symptoms, previous treatments, and how the pain affects your daily life. Then, they will outline a personalized treatment plan.
- How do I prepare for a procedure with an interventional pain management doctor?
- FAQ Answer: Preparation may include fasting for a certain period before the procedure, temporarily stopping certain medications, and arranging for transportation home. Your doctor will provide specific instructions based on the procedure you're undergoing. Always inform your doctor of all medications and supplements you're taking.
- Will my insurance cover visits to an interventional pain management doctor?
- FAQ Answer: Many insurance plans cover interventional pain management treatments, but coverage varies depending on the specific procedure and your insurance policy. Prior to your visit, check with your insurance provider to understand your coverage, and confirm with the pain management practice if they accept your insurance.
